Student Services
Student Advocacy Counsellor
The Student Advocacy Counselor in each school site promotes student success, provides preventive services, and responds to identified student needs by providing individual and group counseling to students, linking students and families with appropriate community agencies, and by referring “at-risk” students and families to appropriate community agencies. The Student Advocacy Counselor coordinates, researches, and/or develops preventative and intervention programs to enhance and support the school and district’s needs. The Student Advocacy Counselor works in partnership with community agencies, school staff, students, and families.
Academic Advisor
Each student is assigned an academic advisor. The student’s advisor will be responsible for working with the student and their parent/guardian to develop an individualized student development plan. This plan will include an attendance agreement, an academic plan and a career development plan. You will refer to your advisor on any issue regarding your attendance agreement, academic plan or participation in extra-curricular activities.
