Indigenous youth pursuing post-secondary studies with the ultimate objective of obtaining a university degree, a college diploma, or a certificate from a technical institute.

Audience Indigenous students completing high school and mature students entering their first year of study.

Eligibility students who are completing their high school education and entering their first year of post-secondary study at an accredited institution and individuals, deemed as mature by their post-secondary institution, entering their first year of study at an accredited institution.

Audience First Nations, Inuit, and Metis students across Canada who demonstrate leadership capabilities and strive to be role models in their schools and communities.
Sponsored by ATCO
Eligibility Applicants must be enrolled in full-time high school (including upgrading) or an accredited post-secondary institution or training program, and cannot be the child of an ATCO employee.
Value

Merit Awards - $750 (students completing Grades 9-12)
Bursaries - $1,200 (students enrolled in trade/community technical college diploma or certificate programs)
Scholarships - $1,800 (students enrolled in degree or graduate programs)
Bridging Awards - $1,000 (students registered in an upgrading program or university preparation program

Eligibility Indigenous students in grades 11 and 12 to spend a week at a Canadian university, interacting with scientists in their research laboratories. During the week of instruction on campus, students have the opportunity to meet role models, learn about the support systems available on campus and experience the excitement of doing research.
Value Monetary scholarships available for students who have completed the VJFK program.
