Jane Ripkens Scholarship Fund for Music and the Arts

Purpose and Nature of the Scholarship

The scholarship is presented by Jane Ripkens, former Principal of Bonnyville Centralized High School (2002-2011). Jane Ripkens served as an English Language Arts teacher and held a number of administrative positions in Northern Lights Public Schools until her retirement in June of 2011.

Mrs. Ripkens has had a lifelong love of music, photography and the arts in general and strongly supported the development of these programs at Bonnyville Centralized High School during her tenure. In celebration of her passion for music and the arts, and her 27 years of service to students, Jane Ripkens offers an annual scholarship to a student of B.C.H.S. pursuing a recognized post-secondary program in music or the arts.

Priority will be given to those applicants who are pursuing education in music or the arts with the additional intention of teaching in a public school. The annual scholarship will consist of:

  • a cash award of $500
  • a suitable certificate
