In September, our Mental Health Team (Student Advocacy Counsellors and Wellness Coaches) will be focusing on Self-Awareness and Self-Reflection with our students. This includes having students explore their strengths and challenges and how they can become more resilient.
There are many ways that parents and guardians can encourage self-awareness and reflection at home. Our Student Advocacy Counsellors will be sharing more information about what is happening at their schools later this month. In the meantime, we invite you to check out these resources that are featured on the Mental Health section of the NLPS website:
- Self-Awareness Journal Prompts
Journalling is a great way for students to take a few minutes to reflect on their day, their behaviours, and their actions. These prompts pose questions that will help students reflect and become more self-aware. - VIDEO: Self-Awareness for Kids
Helps students learn about self-awareness and things they can do to become more self-aware. - 9 Games to Help Your Child Develop and Improve Self-Reflection
